Turbidity Curtain

turbidity curtainA turbidity curtain is a floating fabric barrier deployed where cloudy water with sediments is allowed to settle, designed to restrict the flow of sediment-laden stormwater runoff to keep it contained in a limited area. Barriers are available in two different forms: floating and staked.

Floating turbidity barriers are made up of a top flotation device, a fabric curtain stretching down under the water, and a galvanized steel chain sealed along the bottom of the curtain – this creates a counterweight to keep the curtain vertical in the water. The end hems are sealed around a rope and grommeted to allow for┬áconnection.
